Another new one....

I'm really trying to get a handle on all this geek stuff can't wait until I'm finally a full fledged computer geek. Of course geek may no longer be the word to use. I may still be out of date.

Anyway, I just signed up with Technorati. I'm hoping it will help to create a little more traffic. If anyone out there has any ideas, let me know. I've also been looking at Blog Explosion. I'm not real sure about that. Loud noises startle me.

Now I know what it's like to have a true case of cabin fever. I think most of Oklahoma has been declared a Federal Disaster because of our ice storm. So far it's only been psychological, however, I don't have to go out the doggie door to do my business. My poor little dogs. The yellow perimeter in the ice is growing at an alarming rate. Pretty much at the rate the walls of my house are closing in.

Add-on

Instead of painting (shame on me), I've been playing with a new widget. It's still in BETA and I'm not sure how much it will work for me, but it's fun. You can see the first page (which is the only one I've done so far) waaaay down at the bottom of my blog. I may need to work on that. It's called Leaflett. So far it's free.

Time to go down and check for a sufficient number of spots of yellow snow outside the back door. I have Italian Greyhounds, they don't have much hair and really hate the cold.

Brrrrr

My first thought this morning when I woke up was "yippee winter storm and I can't get out of the house even if I wanted to". I can really have a ball playing with all my art stuff without feeling guilty about not going to the grocery or any of that other every day stuff.

I've been doing a little experimenting with claybord scratch art and pastels. The black is working somewhat, but I'm still hitting a brick wall with the white smooth. I took this photo of a lady dressed up in a clown costume at an art fair a couple of years ago and this seemed like a good colorful subject. It's 10" x 8" on Ampersand Claybord Black with pastel. The New Year

I have great confidence in this new year although I seem to have started posting a little late. As I lay in bed this morning thinking about what I could do to make this year better yet I decided not to procrastinate so much. Yeah, I bet you've heard that before.

Another thing I'm going to do is brag a little about myself. If I don't who will? My husband does, but who believes him anyway.

Christmas Dip

I'm having the most fun with Pomegranites. I know, back to the Pomegranites. Somehow I just can't seem to get enough of them.

Had friends over last night for some Christmas fun and my husband made his famous Guacamole Dip. Sprinkled some Pomegranite seeds, (or Arils as their supposed to be called) on top and not only is it delicious but looks just like Christmas.



Woke up this morning thinking about what a wonderful painting it would make. Hmmmm....wonder if I could paint it before I eat it.

Apple Pie

After the first of the year I plan on trying some new aceos on eBay. Here is a sample of what they will look like. It's scratch art using watercolor and ink tinting. This one is called "Birds of a Feather".

I have an apple pie in the oven. I'm not sure why I'm doing this baking now, just one week before Christmas. I was coerced in to it by my husband who peeled and cored the apples that were given to us by a friend of his. What can a wife do but comply. Smells good anyway.



Candymaking this afternoon. Back to the pomegranites. Chocolate covered. Yum! I'll let you know how it turns out.
