Christmas Dip

I'm having the most fun with Pomegranites. I know, back to the Pomegranites. Somehow I just can't seem to get enough of them.

Had friends over last night for some Christmas fun and my husband made his famous Guacamole Dip. Sprinkled some Pomegranite seeds, (or Arils as their supposed to be called) on top and not only is it delicious but looks just like Christmas.

Woke up this morning thinking about what a wonderful painting it would make. Hmmmm....wonder if I could paint it before I eat it.

This is another one of my new cards I'll be putting on eBay after the first of the year. Topaz, size 2.5" x 3.5".

Apple Pie

2.5" x 3.5" SOLD

After the first of the year I plan on trying some new aceos on eBay. Here is a sample of what they will look like. It's scratch art using watercolor and ink tinting. This one is called "Birds of a Feather".

I have an apple pie in the oven. I'm not sure why I'm doing this baking now, just one week before Christmas. I was coerced in to it by my husband who peeled and cored the apples that were given to us by a friend of his. What can a wife do but comply. Smells good anyway.

Candymaking this afternoon. Back to the pomegranites. Chocolate covered. Yum! I'll let you know how it turns out.

The Crystal Bowl and Pomegranits

I am so excited! I now know how to open Pomegranites. I always thought you just pulled all those little seeds out until you turned a certain shade of red. Not so. It seems the secret is opening them just a certain way in a bowl of water. The pinkie does not even get pink.

My husband and I decided to invite friends over for dinner so I could show off my new found skill. I prepared a dip with pomegranites on top and a wonderful salad with apples and pomegranites in it just to name a couple of dishes. Everything was going smoothly until I noticed that those little bright red seeds tended to roll off the chips and dip. A couple did make it to the floor and unfortunately got stepped on before they were discovered. Oh my! Well, it cleaned up pretty good. Fortunately there was no carpet involved so no permanent damage other than to my nervous system. Anyway, the dip and salad was yummy. Let me know and I'll send you the recipe.

On the fly.....

SOLD
On the go again. One more art thing to take care of before the year end. Officers out, officers in. Fortunately I'm an officer going out. This is for Edmond Art Association where I have been serving somewhat dilligently..kind of.... for the past year in the role of Secretary. Other than this being the last meeting, the other remeeding factor for this evening is a pot-luck supper. I am planning on making this worthwhile. Never leave what you can carry home in your belly is my moto. Hollow legs work also, and in a pinch I have used my purse.

While I am doing my duty munching away I will have another little ACEO card ( or pocket art as I like to call them) going up on eBay.

This one is of an African Grey parrot tittled "Out of Africa". I used to have an African Grey. They are amazing birds. His name was Cappy and some day I'll tell you about him.

Tabby

This is a little ACEO card that will go on eBay tonight. They are a lot of fun and quite addictive.

Well, that came up a little large, I think. Maybe I should choose the smaller option next time.

BTW, this and some of my other art cards can be see on My eBay.

Have to go now. Have a pastel class I teach and this is the last class of the year so I must not be late.

Diets

Since getting back in to the art scene at the ripe old age of oh, umm, around 50, I think subconsciously I'm trying to make up for all the years lost. Art, or what I will paint, is the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning before I even get out of bed. I can hardly wait to get the coffee brewing and get up to my studio. Sometimes I don't think about breakfast until in the afternoon. Now you would think I could figure out how that would help to loose weight. Not so! Well, maybe a little.

There are diets and then there are diets. Perhaps I'm just getting absent minded and forgetting to eat.

I'll be back later to post some of my paintings.
Now that I have this Blog started, I think I'll go have breakfast.
